This
page will be used for "nekkid" doll comparison photos. I am
interested in the construction and materials used in our hobby, but
realize that some people are uncomfortable looking at "naked" dolls.
There are a few nekkid dolls elsewhere on the website, but from
now on I will try to put all the nekkid info shots on this page.
Thank you!
First, here is an assemblage of larger fashion dolls. From the left we
have Arisaema (2006 Nouveau Dynamite Cissy); Circe II (English Waltz
Cissy); Silky (60 cm Obitsu); Kaviq (NS Cara CED); and Rose (Tonner
American Model).

It was love at first sight with some of these dolls, but I am not sure
whether I will be keeping Rose, as she is not very posable. She
is so beautiful though, and a very sweet model. The Cissi are
wonderful, but they don't sit as well as the others. They do not
like to bend quite so acutely at the hip there, or they are top-heavy,
or something. I like the posability of the newer dolls (Arisaema)
but not the hard plastic (the dusty look of her hard plastic is caused
by some kind of drying of the material) and not the scooped-out legs or
the flat butt and thick waisted look! I like the figure of the
regular modern Cissy doll better, and I like the feel of the vinyl
better than the hard plastic of the newer ones. But I do like
their posability!

I love Silky. Those Obitsus are just about the perfect toy in my
opinion. The only issue I have with her is that she gets loose in
the waist/hip joint and it is hard to keep her tightened up. Also
I have heard that they can break there in their innards, and while they
can be fixed, nobody likes to break their toys!
Here is a closeup of just Silky, Rose, and Kaviq.

Next we have what are actually much older photos. I found this
wonderful Pocahontas doll. On her back she is stamped (c) 1995
Applause / Made in China. I think she is 15" tall and she is made
of what seems to be a fairly hard vinyl, not quite like any of my other
dolls. She has inset eyes, dramatic eye liner, tons of wonderful
hair, great proportions (big hands and feet, solid waist). I have
her next to a Fashion Jane by Robert Tonner for comparison purposes.
Poca can wear most of the Matt/Basil clothes, but I have to roll
up the trouser legs.
